Sculptra

Poly-L-Lactic acid is the main ingredient in Sculptra. This has been used successfully in surgical procedures for more than 25 years.
It is an injectable material that lifts and smooths sagging skin, severe wrinkles, creases, dark circles and scars. It has been specially designed to repair and restore contour defects in the face without surgery. It is biocompatible and biodegradable.

Sculptra works in the lower layers of the skin in to smoothen and firm areas of the face with it’s special micro particles that help to reduce facial flaws.

It is a unique substance which is gradually and naturally broken down in the body. No allergy tests are needed because it is not derived from animals.

The number of injections depends on many different factors. Generally, several treatments may be necessary to obtain the required results. After your personal programme the results will last up to 2 years.

Once Sculptra is injected, wrinkles and volume defects fill out immediately. Within a few days, the water in Sculptra is absorbed by the body resulting in a slight increase in the depth of the wrinkle again. The second phase now starts with a natural, soft build-up of connective tissue. Wrinkles and contour defects are smoothed out. To decide if any additional correction is needed, patients are re-evaluated no sooner than 2 weeks after each injection session.

The results are usually noticeable after 6 weeks and 2 or 3 treatments may be needed following the initial treatment. Sculptra is effective, well tolerated and lasts in many patients for more than 18 to 24 months.
